Rory has it all!” We briefly discussed the potential of a future breeding and subsequently ended up with a small litter in the Winter of 2024. This is a repeat breeding, which speaks to the quality of puppies and associated feedback from the first breeding. Shelbie is a beautiful medium colored golden out of great field bred hunting lines with European field goldens from Denmark on her sires’ side adding genetic diversity to her pedigree. She is very smart, has an excellent temperament, loves to please and is a great family dog. She has an athletic build with 55lbs of go! She completed her AKC junior hunter in 2021 and is a superb upland pheasant hunter. Pairing her with Rory will build on her speed, desire in the field and that tractability that is so strong with Rory. Puppies will be both AKC and UKC registered.

Description:
FBGR Hielan’s Bonnie Copper Cu JH – “Shelbie” is an AKC and UKC registered, field-bred Golden Retriever with outstanding genetics. She has a smaller athletic build, is 20 inches tall, weighs 58 pounds, and is a fast, athletic, birdy, watery retriever with high drive. She excels in the field, demonstrating a strong passion for hunting and retrieving. She’s intelligent and is an excellent upland bird hunter. Shelbie went 4 for 4 and earned her AKC Junior Hunter (JH) title at 15 months and after a layoff will finish up her UKC Starting Retriever (SHR) title this summer. She loves the water, will not pass up an opportunity to go for a ride with her humans, has a sweet disposition, loves people, and has an excellent off switch. Shelbie is house-trained, crate-trained, and a wonderful family dog.

Description:
Rory is the embodiment of what you hope for in a field golden retriever. He exhibits the build, color and beauty that always turns heads and brings comments. He is a very dark golden and some would say “red dog”. His field coat is smooth and flat virtually repelling burrs of all shapes and sizes making cleanup after any field work a breeze. He stands 24” at the withers providing excellent visibility in all afield situations, broad in the head and a very athletic body. Some of his best traits are not visible. He is very tractable – he is easy to train and gets new concepts easily. He breezed through finished training and gained his Hunting Retriever Championship title at age 2 passing every test entered. He is 100% amateur trained and handled. He is fast when sent yet very steady at the line and in the blind. He has no problem sitting quietly for hours, honoring other working dogs patiently and quietly waiting for his turn to retrieve. When it is his time, it is over quick and he is back patiently waiting for that next opportunity.
